Entrepreneur Scholars Program - Director

• What is your current role?  I am the director of the Donald McNeely center for entrepreneurship at the College of Saint Benedict and St. John’s University. I am also the director of the entrepreneur scholars program.
• How long have you been in your current role? I have been at CSB/SJU for 30 years. most of that time I was a professor of management, global business and entrepreneurship.
• What is something people may not know about you? Along with a group of college buddies, I have been to all 30 major league, baseball stadiums and 23 major league baseball stadiums that no longer exist. I wrote a novel based on the true story of these baseball adventures and it is called, "Baseball Road Trip."
• What is your favorite part of your position? Watching students take something from an idea to a successful venture.  Also traveling to China and Vietnam with students. I have been to China 15 times and Vietnam five times. Both countries are great for getting students out of their comfort zone.
• What is a hope or dream for growth within your position/company? I am hoping to take the foundation that we have built over the past 20 years and put a team in place to take things to the next level.

IMPORTANT FEDERAL REGULATORY DEVELOPMENT!

You may have heard last year about the requirement for every corporation or LLC to file a “Beneficial Ownership Information” (BOI) report with the Department of the Treasury's Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN).  This requirement was put into effect last year and was to have been completed by all businesses 12/31/2024, but a Federal judge issued a temporary injunction blocking the requirement in December. See FinCEN  Notice, FIN-2025-CTA1, 2/18/2025.

That injunction has been lifted and the Treasury Department has updated the deadline for businesses to file the BOI report to March 21, 2025.  The email notes that Congress might pass legislation to delay reporting, but that is far from certain at this point.
