We are launching an exciting new section to the Developing News - Q & A with GSDC Staff.
This month we are featuring Leslie Dingmann who joined the GSDC in September 2013 as the Business Development Director. Leslie drives economic growth and fosters business development in the Greater St. Cloud area. Her expertise has been vital in attracting and retaining businesses, enhancing the region's economic health. As a board member of the Rotary Club of St. Cloud and the Minnesota Economic Development Foundation, she mentors emerging leaders and shapes the region's future.
Can you share some highlights from what you've been working on? One initiative I'm particularly excited about is enhancing the entrepreneurial ecosystem as GSDC's Launch Minnesota Hub Lead. We're connecting local entrepreneurs, boosting collaboration, and creating resources to foster innovation and business growth, making Greater St. Cloud a recognized hub for launching and scaling businesses.
What upcoming projects are you most excited about?
I am excited to partner with the City of Sartell and key players on redeveloping the former Verso Paper Mill site, a rare and significant opportunity along the Mississippi River in Minnesota. Our region has the chance to create something truly impactful!
What do you enjoy most about your work?
As an economic development professional, my role centers on building relationships with regional business leaders. I work daily with inspiring individuals who believe in collaborative success. I love applying my creativity to projects and seeing innovative ideas make a real impact.
The inaugural FastLane94 BarCamp on August 1 was a resounding success! Attendees from all walks of life gathered at Roundhouse Brewery in Nisswa to share their personal and professional insights and passions. The event featured spontaneous talks, best practice discussions, and open idea pitching, all of which fostered deeper community connections, strengthened our small business network, and enhanced our overall quality of life.
On August 19, we attended the groundbreaking ceremony for "The House Food and Tap" in St. Joseph, MN — an extraordinary venue designed to foster inclusivity and vibrant conversations. We are excited to witness BriAnne Hern and her husband Craig transform their visionary concept into reality. A special mention goes to Josh Kaeter, the mastermind behind Eminent Coffee Roasters, who will be joining forces with three other trailblazing businesses (98 Hawaiian Grille, JoeTown Smashburger, and Birdie's Pizza and Garden Bar) at The House Food and Tap. Both BriAnne and Josh have taken advantage of the free 1:1 Strategist Coaching provided through GSDC's Thrive MN program. If you or someone you know is seeking our Free 1:1 Coaching, sign up here.
